Deadline for submission of the 2011 GSA Scholarship Program Application is coming near.  Please refer to the Scholarship link on the GSA Website for more information.  Read the application packet carefully and ensure to follow all instructions.
If you are sending your application by mail, it must reach the destination address by Monday, May 30, 2011 — note post marked application submissions will not be accepted.   Additionally, emailed applications must be received not later than 11:59PM, Monday May 30th to the email address provided in the packet.   Applications received after this time via email will not be considered.

May 2011 PICPA CPA Exam Scholarship

The following information about the scholarship in 2011 PICPA CPA

For registration closing on 30 April 2011. For further information we submit the following information about it:

PICPA's CPA Exam Scholarships are designed to help cover some of the costs associated with successfully passing the CPA Exam. Twenty scholarships of $500 will be awarded to PICPA members who have received their notice to sit for the exam and are not receiving any additional funding. Awards are given on a competitive basis to candidates who best satisfy the requirements listed below.

Requirements

To be eligible to apply, candidates must: 1. Have a current or final cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher 2. Be a US citizen and permanent Pennsylvania resident 3. Have no other funding sources that would cover exam fees, nor be eligible for reimbursement from an employer or other source at the time of application. (Some who have received funding in the past may still be eligible, contact the PICPA Member Relations Team at 267-675-6240 or membership@picpa.org to inquire.) 4. Be pre-approved to test by NASBA (you must have a bachelor's degree to be approved to test) and agree to sit for at least one part within six months of the date on the application approval letter.** 5. Not have already completed all four parts of the exam, but may have completed zero to three parts. 6. Be a PICPA student, associate, or accounting affiliate member. 7. Complete all four parts of the exam within 18 months of being approved to sit by NASBA. If all four parts are not taken within 18 months, the candidate may be asked to refund all, or a portion of the fee based on number of parts completed. Extension requests will be reviewed and approved by the Member Services Committee chair. **Applicants must submit a copy of the Notice to Schedule AND a copy of the receipt for payment of the application fee, as well any exam fees with your application (copy of credit card statement is acceptable). These copies can be submitted as attachments (PDF format is recommended) at the end of this application. If you are chosen as a scholarship recipient then you must also: 1. Agree to submit a copy of the letter sent by CPA Examination Services upon successful completion of all four parts of the CPA Exam. 2. Agree to notify PICPA of receipt of the Pennsylvania CPA License. Butterfly of Peace ScholarshipAward maximum: $500
One scholarship available for any Distance Education eLearning course or program.

ColorMasters ScholarshipAward maximum: $450
Multiple scholarships available for the Distance Education eLearning Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP) diploma program. Preference will be given to applicants employed by a jewelry store that carries ColorMasters products.

Daniel Swarovski & Company ScholarshipAward maximum: $1,000
One scholarship available for Distance Education eLearning gemology courses or programs. Applicant must have a minimum of two years’ experience in the jewelry industry. Two letters of recommendation are required, one of which must come from within the jewelry industry.

Eunice Miles ScholarshipAward maximum: $500
One scholarship available for any Distance Education eLearning course.

GIA 80th Anniversary Scholarship – Distance Education eLearningAward maximum: $1,500
Multiple scholarships available for any Distance Education eLearning course.

GIA 80th Anniversary Scholarship – Lab ClassesAward maximum: $1,295
Multiple scholarships available for lab classes. Applicants must reside in the United States.

Independent Jewelers Organization/IJO Scholarship*Award maximum: $500
One scholarship available for any Distance Education eLearning gemology course or program. Available only to IJO Members or their employees (*includes Canadian Members).

Jewelers of America ScholarshipsJewelers of America (JA) has scholarships available for GIA Distance Education courses for JA members and their employees. Applicants must be at least 18 years old; have at least one year of experience working at a JA member store or two years working in the jewelry industry; and not already be enrolled in another GIA Distance Education course. For more information, visit the JA website.

Kiesel Foundation and Gemological Tools ScholarshipAward maximum: $500
One scholarship available for any Distance Education eLearning course, program, or lab class.

R. Harder Gallery ScholarshipAward maximum: $2,500
Two Distance Education eLearning scholarships available for the Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) program. Applicants must reside in the state of Wisconsin. Preference will be given to applicants who reside in the Fox Valley Region (zip codes 54911 - 54956).

Wisconsin Jewelers Association ScholarshipAward maximum: $1,000
A minimum of five scholarships available for any Distance Education eLearning course or program. Applicants must be an employee of a Wisconsin Jewelers Association member store.
